🤩 We are so honored!

ICYMI - The Colerain Township Department of Fire & EMS was awarded a grant from AARP Ohio for $2,500 to continue our efforts to make older adults safer in their homes.

This is part of our Fall Prevention Program - Falls are a leading cause of injury, especially in bathrooms! Through our partnership with AARP, this grant allows us to install FREE grab bars in Colerain Township homes (residents 50+). This initiative enhances community safety, promotes independence, and helps residents stay in their homes longer.

☀ With all the warm weather forecasted this week, we wanted to make sure the pickleball courts were in good condition - so we called in the experts!

The good news - the pickleball courts are Fire Department approved. Come get your game on from sunrise to sunset for free at the Colerain Township pickleball courts behind the Senior Center at 4300 Springdale Rd.

Join us for the 10th Annual Colerain Township Give-Back Day on Saturday, November 21, 2026!

For the past 10 years, more than 1,500 volunteers have come together to help older adults, veterans, and individuals with disabilities by providing fall yard clean-up and outdoor assistance throughout our community.

Glad we could help, and very happy that there were no injuries!

At 09:18 today units from Green Township Fire & EMS were dispatched to the 6700 block of Harrison Avenue for a fire alarm activation. While responding, units were advised that the whole apartment building was full of smoke, so the incident was upgraded to a building fire response. Engine 53 arrived, located a working fire in a second floor apartment and performed an aggressive interior attack, declaring the fire under control at 09:33. Thanks to our mutual aid partners from Miami Township Fire & EMS, Cheviot Fire Department, Whitewater Township Fire Department, and Colerain Township Fire Department for the assistance. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters; however, one dog died as a result of the smoke from the fire. The cause is under investigation, but is not considered suspicious.

🔥 REMEMBER - If you have a lithium-ion battery you believe is damaged or dead, you can safely recycle them at Station 25 (3251 Springdale Rd.).

Colerain Fire is a proud partner of the Cincinnati Recycling & Reuse Hub as an off-site location for its Fire Department Lithium Battery Collection program. Recycling these batteries don't just reduce fire hazards, but it's also better for our environment and safer for sanitation workers who would otherwise be handling damaged lithium-ion batteries.
