After decades of dedicated service to Colerain Township, Fire Chief Allen Walls is getting ready to hang up his helmet and begin a well-deserved retirement.

During the past 6 years, Chief Walls has been a steady leader for the Colerain Township Department of Fire & EMS. He has helped guide the department while always keeping the safety of our residents, businesses and first responders at the heart of the work. His commitment to the community and the people who serve it has made a lasting difference.

Please join us as we celebrate Chief Walls, thank him for his service and wish him the very best in his next chapter. Stop by, share a memory and help us give Chief Walls the sendoff he deserves.

🚒🔥 It's officially in service!

THANK YOU to everyone who came out today to help with our ceremonial push-in of Engine 102. Can you believe it's been 10 years since we've had a new vehicle? This new truck will replace a frontline vehicle that's been in service for 24 years (and will now be used as a spare when repairs are needed on other engines). This will allow us to fully retire a 35-year-old firetruck.

Fun fact - National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends replacing frontline fire trucks after 15 years and fully retiring them after 20-25 years. Thanks to our amazing in-house fleet maintenance crew, we're able to keep our engines in better shape for longer.

🔥🔧You already know our in-house fleet department is top notch, but here they go taking it a step further!

Please join us in congratulating fleet mechanic Corbin Ralston on this huge achievement! Corbin recently graduated from the Texas A&M Engineering class for fire pump fundamentals.

🚒The class covers pump theory as well as pump maintenance and repair. At the end of the class, he had the option to take the EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician) test, which he PASSED!

Corbin is also an ASE Master Mechanic, and he is medium- and heavy-truck certified. This new pump certification helps the Colerain Township Department of Fire & EMS in our ISO rating - which then lowers insurance liability for the residents of Colerain Township.

We are very fortunate to have highly qualified technicians working on emergency vehicles to diagnose problems, properly maintain apparatuses, and keep our vehicles in service around the clock for emergency response. CONGRATS, CORBIN!

🔥This week, our fire recruit class was down at the training tower!

One of the greatest benefits of our in-house recruit program is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while learning the expectations and operational practices of our own department. Recruits develop practical skills such as ladder operations, selecting and using the appropriate fire extinguisher, home entry techniques, while learning how we expect those skills to be applied in our department.

Our instructors have 95+ years of combined experience and can help train our next wave of firefighters in the wide variety of situations they may encounter while on the job. This knowledge and training ensure that when YOU call 911, we are prepared and ready to help.

It's time to celebrate the one and only Joe Grayson! After more than 30 years, FF/P Joe Grayson is joining Unit 4 - as they call it - and retiring.

Thank you for your decades of dedication, expertise, professionalism, and hard work helping the residents and visitors of Colerain Township. Please join us to give him a proper send-off on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Fire Station 102 at 11:30 a.m.

Please join us for a traditional fire engine push-in ceremony as we officially place this new apparatus into on-duty mode.

🔥 Our efforts are expanding! Colerain Fire is adding a SECOND drop off location for the Fire Department Lithium Battery Collection program here in Colerain Township!

🔋DYK - since the program launched in 2023, more than 4,160 pounds of lithium batteries have been recovered? It's true!

♻ Even better - more than 1,300 pounds of this have been collected by Colerain Township's drop-off location at Station 25. That's more than 30 percent of all lithium batteries recovered and recycled through this program!!

The Colerain Township Dept. of Fire and EMS is proudly working with the and to reduce fire hazards and keep lithium-ion batteries out of the landfill.

Recycling these batteries doesn't just reduce fire hazards, but it's also better for our environment and safer for sanitation workers who would otherwise be handling damaged lithium-ion batteries.

Drop off your used lithium batteries safely at either of our TWO LOCATIONS:
