The Archives and Rare Books Library will be tabling in Langsam Library today from 1-4pm! Stop by to see some cool primary sources on ventroliquism in Cincinnati, a southern journey following the Civil War, and the building of Union Terminal along with some tiny books, some "magic" books, and info on activist Marian Spencer. You may even learn why one of ARB's collections was once stored in metal bread tins!

About ready to go into a lecture on the history of arsenic books and we just received these back from our colleagues at the UC Preservation Lab, who placed CoLibri jackets on them and created new housing with warning labels. We aren't sure if these are arsenic bindings, but we are being cautious for our researchers. And, as always folks, don't lick the books when visiting the Archives and Rare Books Library!

We received another order of handmade book pillows (and some snakes, too!) from the wonderful book_historia! We can't wait to put them to use in the reading room and during instruction sessions!

We are honored to be the new home for this amazing collection. Stop by the Archives and Rare Books Library to learn more about Melinda C. Wells Brown and her amazing collection. Portions of her collection are on display for a couple of more weeks (through March 31) as part of the exhibition "Tiny Treasures: Celebrating the Miniature Book Collections of Melinda C. Wells Brown and Kalman L. Levitan"

After the passing of UC alumna and beloved librarian, Melinda C. Wells Brown, A&S '57, her daughter, M. Allyson Brown, MD, gave her mother's cherished collection of miniature books to the Archives & Rare Books Library, University of Cincinnati.

📖 The Melinda C. Wells Brown Collection of Miniature Books will be on display until March 31rst on the 8th floor of the Carl Blegen Library.
