Congratulations to the following students who were selected to be a part of a Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Washington D.C!

To earn this spot, students interested in participating submitted essays, they were then scored anonymously by BMS staff members with the top four earning their spot to be a part of this once in a lifetime opportunity. There were many great essays turned in, but when the points were tallied these 4 took the top spots. Great job to all and we can't wait to see these students represent Bridgetown at the ceremony!

I would like to share an email Mr. Taylor received while we were in DC, pretty awesome...

Mr. Taylor,

I found your email address on your school's website, and wanted to reach out to share a positive experience we had with some of your students yesterday in Washington, DC. I was serving as a guardian for a veteran on the Honor Flight from the Quad Cities (Illinois/Iowa area). As we were visiting the Air Force Memorial, a group from your school was there as well. They handed our veterans letters, shook their hands, looked them in the eyes, asked questions (and were genuinely curious about the responses they received), and were careful to make extra space for them to get around on a rainy day. When our group got back on the bus, the veterans were opening their letters, and I wish your students could have seen their reactions. These men and women were chattering to one another about what an amazing experience that was, and how much they appreciated it. After all of the stops we made yesterday, this was the interaction that was most talked about. I am a teacher myself, and know just how hard it can be to get behaviors to shine on class trips, so I wanted to make sure you knew how honored our group was to encounter the respectful students at your school, and how much we appreciated their kind words and gestures.

Don’t forget to leave the red area open for the buses. All actual parking spots are fair game, but the buses will need the red space to park and get luggage unloaded. As soon as the kids get their luggage they are good to go!
