Project Connect would like to thank all of the donors, partners , Dr. Dave Kelly, Dr. Lori Wright, Jack Minor and University of Cincinnati team, Josh Hardin and CPS Athletics and all of the many student athletes who showed up to make the 5th Annual CPS All Star Showcase an amazing event! Without your commitment, this event would not be possible. This partnership has raised $80,000 over the course of five years to provide emergency stays for CPS students families who are living in places unfit for human habitat. This is life-changing work and t we are so thankful for this community and to work for a district that is truly Here for Kids!

Much thanks and appreciation to everyone who supported last night’s Hildegard Happy Hour at the Overlook Lodge.

As a result, Project Connect (PC) received 4,800 feminine hygiene products to be given to young ladies served by PC!

Despite the cold, ice and snow, the Project Connect team showed up today in order to ensure that our students and families have a wonderful holiday season, even while facing housing instability. PC leadership wants to thank the team, as well as our dedicated partners, the Cincinnati Realtor Association and the Cincinnati Cadillac Club, who also showed up, despite the weather, providing gifts, funding and blankets for our families. We say it all the time, but I’ll say it again, we can not do this work alone. With so much gratitude, the Project Connect team!

Project Connect is gearing up for our annual Holiday Toy and Coat Distribution where we will be providing gifts, coats, shoes and food boxes to CPS students experiencing homelessness. The holidays can place additional stress on families as they work to meet their basic needs and secure housing. We want to ease this additional burden and bring our students some joy during this season. We appreciate Walmart, Better Days for Kids, Dream Builders’s University and our many donors for your commitment to serving students and making it possible for us to provide this support! Thank you for joining us in being Here for Kids!

Project Connect is so appreciative of Cincinnati Public Schools Staff for Students and Trane Technologies for their generous donation of nearly 150 warm coats for our students experiencing homelessness. Sometimes not having warm clothing is the reason that a child is not able to attend school and we are so thankful to be able to provide this resource because of your kindness!

Project Connect wants to thank all of our amazing partners for contributing to the PC Holiday Coat and Toy distribution. As we prepare to serve over 2000 students experiencing homelessness this holiday with food, toys and coats, it is essential that we cultivate strong partnerships. Today we received a large donation of toys from Valley Temple. This is a new partnership that has come right on time! As the need increases in our community we want to extend our gratitude for the support that we have received in making the holidays brighter for our students and families! We can not do this work in silo.

If it is in your heart to make a donation that will make a difference, please consider a donation to Project Connect on this Giving Tuesday. Project Connect does so much more than simply remove educational barriers, the program is committed to serving children and families holistically. In September of this year, the program opened up the WRAP, a resource center providing educational resources, clothing, shoes, food, hygiene items, enrichment, parent/caretaker programming and access to partner services. In the spring, the program will open Ohio’s first safe sleep lot. This will be a parking lot providing security, safety and access to bathroom and laundry services for unhoused families awaiting shelter placement. As the number of children experiencing homelessness continues to grow in our community, the program relies on community partners and stakeholders to deepen the ability to serve.

Donations provide the following support for students and families experiencing homelessness:

$5.00 hygiene items
$10.00 socks and underwear
$15.00 a backpack
$20.00 a back pack with school supplies
$25.00 a winter coat
$40.00 a uniform shirt and pants
$50.00 a new pair of new shoes
$75.00 a 1 night hotel stay
$100.00 summer enrichment and field trips

No donation is too big or too small and we are deeply appreciative!

Project Connect was able to support hundreds of students and families experiencing homelessness with amazing food baskets this holiday season thanks to our many partners. We want to give thanks to EMJ Steele Company, Seven Hills Church, Girls to Women at Evanston Junior High School, Glenwood Behavioral Health Hospital and CPS Athletics for their generous donations of holiday baskets and gift cards. Your support brings joy to families who are facing both housing and food insecurity. We thank you for making an impact! Wishing a wonderful and safe holiday season to all!
