I’ve prosecuted some of the worst criminals from our neighborhoods in the West Side. Now as judge in the seventh district, I am serving our West Side neighborhoods, where my family calls home, in a different capacity. As a prosecutor, it was my job to be smarter, work harder, and be stronger than the people who try to destroy our neighborhoods. Don’t misunderstand – I still sentence the bad guys t
o firm and fair punishments. However, a judge is the last line of defense for law abiding citizens. When someone comes into my courtroom, I am the final authority that stands between a citizen and the loss of his civil rights. Judges have to get it right. If we don’t, then justice suffers. The Constitution suffers. The best judges, the most benevolent judges, are not the ones who seek to give a lighter sentence to the guy whose personal story touches their heart or sentence a poorly dressed defendant to a longer sentence because he wore jeans to court. The best judges administer the law fairly and equally. The best judges do not legislate from the bench. You elect state representatives, Congress members and Senators for that. Judges have a sworn duty to uphold the laws and the Constitution. I have spent many years serving the community where I am raising my family – incarcerating criminals and ensuring the rights of the people in our district. I am proud to serve the people of Delhi Township, West Side Cincinnati, Harrison, Cleves, Addyston, North Bend and Miami and Whitewater townships. I go to work each day to not only protect you from criminals but to protect your rights and our Constitution. You should expect no less from anyone who serves you as judge or any other public official. It is an honor and a privilege to serve you, and I thank you for your confidence and trust in me. Serving and protecting our families and neighborhoods is my passion.
