With all that is going on in our country, our community, we must never forget to take a moment and remember our fallen brother, Oscar Armstrong III. Brother Armstrong made the ultimate sacrifice 17 years ago while battling a house fire in Bond Hill. May we all learn from this incident and forever keep him and his family in our thoughts. It's Spring Service time in Cincinnati. See below for details.

ANNUAL SPRING SERVICE ALERT! Throughout the month of April, every one of the 12,000+ fire hydrants in the City of Cincinnati will be checked and serviced.

After servicing, firefighters try to flush the water until it's clear, but occasionally water may temporarily look discolored. If this happens, simply run water from the tap for a few minutes until it becomes clear. If it remains discolored for more than a few hours, please contact Greater Cincinnati Water Works at 513-591-7700.

Fire companies will perform this maintenance 7 days a week.

On this day in 1880, fire broke out at the J.P. Gay Bucket Factory. 5 Firefighters were killed battling the blaze in what is still the largest single loss of firefighter lives in the CFD. In memory of our fallen brothers, may they never be forgotten:
