Congratulations to this year’s recipients recognized at today’s Hamilton County Planning Partnership Annual Meeting for their commitment to thoughtful planning, community development, and public service.

The Village of North Bend received the Frank F. Ferris Award, which honors excellence in planning and the development and implementation of community plans. Mayor Doug Sammons was presented with the Melvin D. Martin Community Planning Award, recognizing his long-term commitment to community planning and volunteer leadership.

The Partnership also introduced a new recognition this year — the Adam Goetzman Professional Service Award — an annual award honoring his outstanding professional contributions to planning in Hamilton County.

Thank you to all of the local leaders, volunteers, and planning professionals who help shape strong, vibrant communities across Hamilton County.

Hamilton County officials will gather on the steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse for the County's first-ever America 250-Ohio Flag-Raising Ceremony- Thursday, July 2 at 1:00pm, kicking off local celebrations commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Last week, the America 250-Ohio Hamilton County, Ohio - Government Committee held our monthly meeting at Shaker Trace Nursery at Great Parks Miami Whitewater Forest. Thank you to special guests from America 250 - Hamcowest for joining us!

Our Committee invites you to mark America's semiquincentennial with a Flag Raising of the America 250-Ohio Community Flag & Reading of the Declaration of Independence. Join us July 2 at 1:00 p.m. on the front steps of the Hamilton County Courthouse, 1000 Main Street.

- At 1107 PM EDT, radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are
possible.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Cincinnati, Covington, Norwood, Forest Park, Erlanger, Fort

Happy Juneteenth! Hamilton County Administrative Offices and the Courthouse will be closed today in observation of the holiday.

Regular office hours will resume on Monday, June 22.

Today, Hamilton County gathered at the Courthouse to raise the Juneteenth flag and honor the enduring promise of freedom.

Commission President Stephanie Summerow Dumas established Hamilton County's annual Juneteenth Flag Raising tradition. A big thanks to Lydia Morgan for decades of community leadership on the annual Juneteenth Festival, and to the three young women who honored the legacy of Cathay Williams, the only known female Buffalo Soldier in U.S. Army history.

Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati invite residents and visitors to join in celebrating Juneteenth with two community events honoring freedom, resilience, culture, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

Since 2021, the County has continued its tradition of raising the Juneteenth flag as a symbol of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

This year’s ceremony features remarks from County leaders, community representatives, the ringing of the bell 19 times in honor of June 19, and the raising of the Juneteenth flag.

- At 545 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported minor flooding
lingering in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no
additional rainfall is expected.
