HomeBase Cincinnati building the real estate development capacity of Cincinnati’s community development corporations. 🏘️
Two weeks ago, HomeBase Cincinnati kicked off an intensive training series to strengthen the real estate development skills and capacity of our community development practitioners across our city.
We brought together 23 participants from 17 organizations, many from our Operating Support Grant recipient organizations for two full days of CDC Real Estate Fundamentals training, led by community development practitioners and subject matter experts Peter Chapman of Urban Policy Innovations and Glenn Hudson of Hudson Real Estate Advisory Group.
Generously funded and hosted by the ( Greater Cincinnati Foundation )Greater Cincinnati Foundation, this training is the beginning of a broader effort—not a one-time workshop.
Our goal is to build the knowledge, confidence, relationships, and practical tools CDCs need to move real estate projects forward in their neighborhoods.
And we had some fun along the way, too, including a few rounds of Multifamily Feud!
Thank you to Peter and Glenn for sharing your expertise, to Greater Cincinnati Foundation for investing in this work, and especially to the 23 practitioners who showed up ready to learn, ask hard questions, share experiences, and build together.
This is just the beginning. We’re keeping this cohort together for continued deep-dive trainings and project-specific support as we work to grow real estate development capacity across Cincinnati’s CDC network.
We’re excited about what this means for the neighborhoods and communities these practitioners serve.
