Mission Monday | Employee Spotlight ✨

Meet Grace Bagadiong β€” Grants Coordinator, Xavier grad, adaptive sports enthusiast, and one of the newest (and brightest) additions to our Advancement team. πŸŽ“

Grace first came to Saint Joe's as a Respite Guest back in 2016, so when a family member on our Board of Trustees introduced her to this role in 2025, it felt like a full-circle moment. She'll be the first to tell you she came in with a background in legal systems and policy reform β€” not grants β€” but you'd never know it. She's jumped in headfirst and hasn't looked back!

Outside of work, Grace is always on the move. She's tried just about every adaptive sport out there (skiing is a favorite 🎿), loves to travel with her family, and brings that same adventurous energy into everything she does here.

We asked Grace what's stood out most in her first year, and she said it was watching her team stay so grounded and dedicated to planning the 5K on top of everything else on their plates. That kind of thing doesn't go unnoticed β€” and neither does Grace. Her bright personality and fresh ideas bring so much life to this place.

We're so glad you're here! πŸ’™

TEN years is a milestone worth celebrating β€” and this month, we're honoring two of our own who have given a decade of heart to Saint Joe's. πŸŽ‰

Sonya Nolan, Team 3 Support Nurse, shared: "The residents have given me more than I've given them. I feel as if this was a calling for me, and it has shaped who I am over the last 10 years."

Courtney Charles, Blue Ash Day Program Nurse, put it simply: "When I moved back to Cincinnati, I knew I had to come back to Saint Joe's. There's just no place like it."

Sonya and Courtney β€” thank you for choosing to be part of what we do here, every single day. Here's to the next ten. πŸ’™

✨Wisdom Wednesday🫢

Every year, our Recreation team puts together a special celebration for our residents to honor the parents and guardians who mean the world to them. πŸŽ‰

This year's party had great food, fun activities, and a whole lot of love in the room. It's one of those events that just feels good to be part of.

Thank you parents & guardians for spending the afternoon with us! πŸ’™

🌟 Mission Monday | Meet Andrew!

At Saint Joe's, we believe every person deserves a place where they are known, loved, and given the chance to truly thrive. For Andrew, that journey began when he was just four years old β€” and what a journey it has been.

Andrew is on track to graduate from Princeton High School, a milestone that reflects his hard work and the consistent support Saint Joe's has provided since his very first days in pre-K. We couldn't be more proud. πŸŽ“

But Andrew is so much more than his accomplishments. Known affectionately to some as "MacDaddy 5," he brings an infectious energy and warmth that lights up every room. He'll challenge you to movie trivia (fair warning: he knows his stuff 🎬), talk music with you across any genre, and make you laugh like few others can.

What truly sets Andrew apart is his heart. His compassion for fellow residents and staff, his ability to connect with nearly everyone he meets, and the joy he brings to every outing, every event, and every swim β€” these are the things that make him such a treasured member of our community.

His family says it best:

"His consistent displays of love and compassion towards his fellow residents and all staff members are a testament to his kind and empathetic spirit. Andrew has an exceptional ability to forge connections with nearly everyone he encounters, and his infectious enthusiasm brightens the environment for all." πŸ’™

Day Program has been BUSY! πŸ™Œ

From residents exploring switch devices (a simple but powerful tool that lets individuals with disabilities interact with technology using minimal movement) to hitting the trails with Luke5 Adventures in adaptive chairs β€” thanks to the awesome volunteers from TruPointe who made that hike possible β€” to getting up close and personal with firetrucks, city buses, and tractors at Touch-A-Truck, our participants have been doing it all lately.

This is what a full, fun, connected life looks like at Saint Joe's. πŸ’™

🌞 Mission Monday | Kids Summer Camp is OFF to an amazing start! β˜”

Last week, our younger campers kicked off summer with Weather Week β€” and the activities were absolutely incredible!

Here's a peek at what they dove into:
☁️ Cloud spotting outside + cloud book exploration
🌧️ Rainwater sensory bins & shaving cream rain
πŸŒ€ Hurricane tubes & meteorologist stations
πŸͺ Kite flying, bubbles & pinwheels in the wind
❄️ Fake snow sensory play & sun catchers
🎡 A live music performance with Ken Anderson

Kids Camp runs every week all summer long for our younger school-age residents β€” each week bringing a brand-new theme packed with sensory activities, crafts, science, and fun.

This Week: Dino Week πŸ¦• (June 8–12) β€” fossil digs, dino volcanoes, fizzy egg explosions, and even a Tuckers Party Dino Dragons visit!

And mark your calendars β€” Teen Camp launches June 22nd! πŸŽ‰

This is what summer at Saint Joe's looks like. We couldn't be more proud of our incredible camp team.

Last Saturday, something really special happened in Downtown Sharonville β€” and we're still smiling about it.

The Howdy Neighbors Plants for a Purpose sale was their most successful yet. Despite a threatening forecast and an early morning downpour, the community showed up in full force. In just 5 hours:

🌿 80+ plants found new homes
πŸ’š $1,500+ raised β€” all net proceeds to Saint Joe's
πŸͺ΄ Every single plant was home-grown by the Howdy Neighbors team
🎨 Beautiful hand-painted pots, crafted by our Day Program staff and participants, flew off the tables!

A huge thank you to the alReddy Cafe family for opening their space and going above and beyond with their round-up-the-check promotion all week long.

What started as a driveway sale has grown into a real, meaningful fundraiser β€” and that's entirely because of a community that believes in showing up for one another. We are so grateful. πŸ’™

Stay tuned β€” they're already planning a fall sale! πŸ‚
