Today marks the 25th anniversary of one of the darkest days in American history. As we have each year, we honor the 2,977 victims, including over 300 Jews, and all of their loved ones. May this day serve as a profound moment of contemplation and remind us to commit to the continued fight against hatred and extremism. Let us join hand-in-hand with one another to continue the work of “tikkun olam,” or the repairing of the world, as our tradition has always aspired. May all of their memories be for a blessing.

Antisemitism online spreads fast. Responding to it well takes knowledge and coordination, and partners like the AJC - American Jewish Committee Cincinnati help us do exactly that.

Thank you to AJC Cincinnati Director Justin Kirschner for bringing two of AJC's leading voices to Cincinnati: Holly Huffnagle, U.S. Director for Combating Antisemitism, and Jocelyn Flores, Assistant Director of Research and Advocacy. They spoke with community leaders and college students about how to respond to online antisemitism effectively.

Holly and Jocelyn gave us practical tools and real hope to carry forward the ongoing work of confronting hate wherever it appears.

Showing up matters, especially on day one. There’s something special about the first day of a new semester. New classes, new faces, and that feeling that anything could happen.

Our team loved spending it with Jewish students at Miami University Chabad’s Welcome Back BBQ. There was so much excitement in the air, and even more reason to feel hopeful about the year ahead.

College should be a place where Jewish students can find their people, feel at home, and know they’re part of a community that cares about them.

To every student starting a new year, we’re cheering you on. Here’s to a semester filled with good friends, meaningful moments, and plenty of reasons to feel proud of who you are.

Good work happens when communities learn from one another.

Recently, our team traveled to Dayton to meet with our counterparts at the Dayton JCRC. We spent time comparing notes, walking through their facilities and programs, and exploring ways our two communities can collaborate and learn from each other.

The day also included a personal tour of the Holocaust museum housed within the Air Force museum. The stories the curator shared stayed with us long after we left, a reminder of what memory asks of us and why we carry it forward.

As a new school year begins, we're preparing to meet with educators across Greater Cincinnati to provide practical tools to recognize antisemitism and respond to it with confidence!

When educators know what to look for and how to act, students are safer and schools are stronger.

This is work we return to every year: answering the call against hate and helping build classrooms where every student can learn without fear.

The Jewish Community Relations Council condemns in the strongest terms the vile targeting of the Cincinnati Islamic Community Center/CICC. Let us be clear: this must be investigated as an Islamophobic hate crime. No faith community should have to fear for its freedom to worship. The threatening language left behind is particularly offensive and speaks to the rising extremism we are seeing across this country. As Jews, we carry the painful knowledge of what happens when a community's sacred space is violated, and we stand shoulder to shoulder with those who have been impacted. Hate has no home in Cincinnati.

An Islamic center in Westwood is working to rebuild trust after burglars broke in and vandalized its main hall with a hateful message.

Good food, good company, and a good cause. Our Director, Chandler Waite, was glad to attend this year's Cincinnati Kosher Dinner, their annual fundraiser.

Their kosher supervision helps make Jewish life in Greater Cincinnati possible, keeping kosher food accessible for families across our community.

Showing up for the organizations that sustain Jewish life is part of our work, and it was a pleasure to be in the room. Thank you for a wonderful evening, and for all you do year-round!

Sunday was a reminder that our region's greatest strength is the many different people who make it home.

At Cincinnati Festival of Faiths, neighbors from every corner of Greater Cincinnati gathered to learn and be in community. It was a picture of the city at its best.

We believe strong interfaith relationships are the foundation of a strong community. Trust is built through the steady work of showing up to listen, learn, and share.

That is the work we're committed to, all year long.
