Meet Linda - She is tired of violence in her city and she's fighting back!
She is the threat Democrats fear the most…
Linda Matthews, a fearless community leader and university trustee who is standing up to Cincinnati’s failed establishment and demanding safe streets again.
Cincinnati is on the brink.
Families are afraid to walk downtown. A single mom named Holly was walking near Fountain Square when she was jumped by a mob.
They beat her unconscious in broad daylight while bystanders watched and recorded on their phones.
She woke up with brain trauma, panic attacks, and said it herself: “I should be dead.”
And what did City Hall do? Mayor Aftab Pureval shrugged.
Council President Pro Tem Victoria Parks actually celebrated the assault, sneering, “They begged for that beat down.” That is failure at the very top of City Hall.
This is the culture Pureval and Parks have created.
Violent criminals walk free.
Police are demoralized.
Families live in fear.
And victims are mocked by the very people elected to protect them.
Linda Matthews is calling it like it is. She stood up in front of her neighbors and said: “Right now I don’t feel safe in Cincinnati. We have to be serious about how we approach safety.”
She is not reading from talking points.
She is speaking from the heart of a woman who has lived here, worked here, and raised her family here.
Linda is not a career politician. She is a graduate of Xavier University. She serves as a trustee at Central State University, Ohio’s only public HBCU.
She has spent years as a North Avondale community leader and as a business innovator helping families build skills for the future.
She has deep ties to education, faith, and civic life — not to the political insider class that is running our city into the ground.
She is not afraid to tell the truth.
She said what everyone knows but the politicians refuse to admit: “When you allow littering, loitering, and vandalism to spread, you create the conditions for violence. We have to take back our streets block by block.”
And she has the courage to bring back real solutions.
As she put it: “Historically, we’ve had Citizens on Patrol. … We need to deal with that.”
Because she knows that safe neighborhoods start with strong communities standing shoulder to shoulder with police.
Matthews has invested her life in the very neighborhoods City Hall has ignored. Now, she is running for City Council to fix that!
She has championed civic engagement in the West End (where I was born), Avondale (where I grew up), and across Cincinnati.
She is furious that Democratic leadership has turned them into dumping grounds for concentrated poverty while leaving families trapped.
She is not asking politely anymore.
She is demanding action. She is tired of excuses. And she is ready to fight for families who deserve dignity and safety in their own streets!
And she is not fighting alone. Cory Bowman, JD Vance’s half-brother, is running for mayor.
He is a pastor, a small business owner, and a father who planted a church in the West End and opened Kings Arms Coffee in College Hill. Together, Matthews and Bowman are force multipliers.
One a Black woman standing up for communities long abandoned, the other the half-brother of the VP taking the fight directly to City Hall.
