Today marks the 78th anniversary of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act, signed into law on June 12, 1948. This historic legislation opened the door for women to serve as permanent members of the U.S. Armed Forces and helped shape the future of military service in America.

In recognition of this milestone and the lasting impact of women who have served, City Council proclaimed June 12, 2026, as Women Veterans Day in Cibolo.

Today, we honor their service and thank them for all they have contributed to our country.
