This morning Grass Rigs 206 and 209 were on display at C&A tool for a car show. Our firefighters spent time explaining what our grass rigs can do along with handing out coloring books to the kids. Later into the afternoon firefighters πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’ took Engine 202 and Grass Rig 206 to Albion for Chain O’ Lakes Days parade. Hopefully you all enjoyed seeing us out and about today because next week you will see a lot of us for Turtle 🐒 Days 2026!

The planned Outdoor Early Warning Siren Test for Columbia City has been cancelled today due to overcast conditions and scattered showers in the area. Out of an abundance of caution, it was decided to postpone testing and resume during the next scheduled test on the third Monday of the month.

The Town of Churubusco will continue with its scheduled siren test today. With no severe weather forecasted and this being the only monthly test conducted in Churubusco, officials have elected to proceed as planned.

Thank you for your understanding.

Another busy evening for Churubusco/Smith Township Firefighters πŸ§‘β€πŸš’

We know. We caused a lot of noise in town with the sirens 🚨 but it’s for a good reason.

Just before 6pm Engine 201 and Tank 204 were requested to stand by at Albion’s fire station while they were assisting a department with a structure fire.

At 8pm Engine 202 responded to a fire service call involving a power line that was burning connected to a house 🏠 in town.

At 8:15pm Engine 201 responded to minor motor vehicle accident north of Albion from Albion’s fire πŸ”₯ station.

The final call πŸ“ž for the day was at 8:45pm for a small grass fire near county line road and Carroll road. The new Grass Rig 206 made its first run with Grass Rig 209 behind it!

Busy evening but providing mutual aid is important as we require mutual aid sometimes too.
