Town of Riga brush pick-up is planned for the week of April 27, 2026. Please have brush out to the roadside prior to that date. We will make one trip down each road and cannot make return trips after we have been down your road. Tree limbs may be up to 14' long. Tree stumps, bagged/piled leaves, construction materials, boulders, concrete, etc. will not be picked up with brush.

Riga Residents
Waste Management due to driver shortage, will not be able to pick up Tuesday Route Recycling, just garbage pickup will occur.
Recycling will be postponed for pickup till next Tuesday.
Waste Management apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause the Tuesday Route Residents.

The Riga Town Hall parking lot will be closed on Wednesday, September 3rd & Thursday September 4th (weather permitting) due to pavement re-surfacing. Individuals needing to conduct business at the town hall may park in the Riga Highway Department parking lot, which is across the street (6475 Buffalo Rd) and walk over to the town hall.

Chili Avenue Extension will be closed today to thru traffic due to road paving.

On Friday August 8th, both Johnson Rd. & Sheridan Rd. will be closed to thru traffic, from Buffalo Rd. to Chili Riga Center Rd. The roads are being closed due to pavement reconstruction.

Full-Time opening. Involves heavy equipment operation & maintenance, general labor work, heavy & light duty tasks. NYS CDL driver's license is required. Applicants must be able to work all shifts.
