Rocio Duncan worked closely with special needs students at Mar Vista High School. Her husband Marvin Duncan allegedly killed her in a parking lot near the Imperial Beach sheriff's substation last week.

“He’s just naturally fast,” Bonita Vista assistant coach Ed Winczowski
said. “Alfredo could be one of our top sprinters in the 200 and 400
because he has as much speed as anyone and is just an excellent
all-around runner.”

Alfredo Rodriguez has been running as long as he can remember. The days of his youth were spent primarily chasing a soccer ball in search of that always-elusive goal. The Bonita Vista High track standout has a different goal now — and there are no pesky defenders or goalkeepers in the way.
