The Prevention Champion Program invites childcare providers throughout San Diego County to join us in creating a stronger culture of child safety and abuse prevention—because the environments where children spend their time matter.
🏆 The Prevention Champion badge represents a commitment to:
• Promoting child safety
• Increasing awareness and education
• Strengthening prevention practices
• Supporting safe and healthy childhoods
• Engaging families in prevention conversations
• Continuously learning and improving
And we want to be clear:
The Prevention Champion designation is NOT a promise that a childcare provider can prevent 100% of abuse or guarantee that an incident will never occur.
No program can make that promise.
Instead, it represents something just as important: a willingness to try.
A willingness to learn.
A willingness to improve.
A willingness to make child safety an intentional priority.
A willingness to be part of the solution.
Because Project 1% reminds us that even one percent can represent real children, real families, and real lives.
And the Prevention Champion Program is about asking:
