The Citizen Support Group for the Montgomery County (VA) Sheriff's Office was formed to provide support and recognition to the deputies and support staff for the MCSO and to increase awareness of the many areas that the MCSO supports the citizens and businesses of Montgomery County and its communities.

We had a lot of fun celebrating National Police Week with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. But today was a sobering reminder of how dangerous and sometimes deadly their work is. A wreath was placed at the First Responder’s Memorial outside the Sheriff’s Office in memory of the law enforcement who gave their lives keeping us save. The CPD Color Guard presented the colors and the Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard rendered a 21-gun salute. CPD Chief Ramsey and Sheriff Page provided comments. The ceremony concluded with the playing of taps.

Our Group finished National Police Week with chicken and pork BBQ sliders along with baked beans and mac'n cheese. There were plenty of desserts. Thanks to Mission BBQ for providing the slider rolls and an assortment of sauces. Thank you to Willow for joining us for the third day. She and her sisters have been a great help all week.

Today is the start of National Police Week. Our Group has plans through Thursday. For years we have started the week with a pizza feast provided by Stuart Arbuckle and Pizza Inn. Stuart generously donates the pizzas with our Group providing salad and desserts. Stop by Pizza Inn and enjoy their buffet and thank him for being a great community supporter.

On April 22, 2026, Mission BBQ presented the CSG a donation resulting from an earlier "Local Heroes" Cup Promotion. Jake Robertson presented the check to Treasurer Brenda Flora. Sheriff Page along with other MCSO members were in attendance. Mission BBQ continues to be very generous to our Group and we are very thankful.

Today is a special milestone for our Group as it marks our 10th anniversary. We started organizing and planning in January 2016, but April 19 was the date the SCC approved our non-profit. Four of our founding members are still active in the Group. During those years, we hope we shown the Sheriff's Office employees some level of appreciation for all they do for our County each day!
