To Our House, a program of New River Community Action Providing temporary thermal shelter and compassionate support for homeless adult in Virginia's New R Guests call (540) 320-1273 to
reserve a bed.

Homeless adults are sheltered from November through March in local churches throughout the NRV. Report to the Host Site between 5:30-6:00 p.m. A hot evening meal is provided with time for fellowship. Guests enjoy breakfast in the morning. A bag lunch is provided for the next day. To Our House (TOH) relies on volunteers from faith-based and community organizations. Training is provided for Clergy a

nd Key Volunteers. TOH provides one overnight staff member, comfortable and portable cots and linens, and transportation to and from the Intake Center.

During the winter months, To Our House provides overnight shelter for adults experiencing homelessness in the New River Valley.

Operating November through March, the program offers more than a safe place to sleep — it connects guests with resources that support employment, housing, and long-term stability.

Now in its 16th housing season, To Our House continues to meet a critical need — even when the weather doesn’t always feel like winter.

This work often happens quietly, behind the scenes, but its impact reaches far beyond the shelter itself.
