These donations will go to the purchase of 2 new dogs, their training and the specialized training each handler must receive and be certified in.

We also wanted to give a special thank you to, Golden Memorial Insurance and Ray Barragan for their huge donation!!!!

April 12th - April 18th 2026 is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. This is a week where we show our appreciation to our CSO/Dispatchers (Telecommunicators). Did you know that all of our professional staff (CSO’s) are cross-trained to work in dispatch? Actually all of our CSO’s started their career as dispatchers. This includes our Code Enforcement Officer, Evidence Technician, Records Clerk, Investigations Assistant and Supervisor. We have five full time dispatchers who work twelve hour shifts and at times work solo dispatching both police & fire, answering 911 lines, text-to-911, business lines and lobby… We are so grateful to the amazing humans who work with us and are proud to serve the City of Chowchilla.

Today we had the pleasure of assisting Room 32 from Fuller School with traffic control as they walked to the Chowchilla Skilled nursing facility to hand out candy and art work they made to the residents.
What a blessing you were to the residents!

Thanks to the vigilance of our community, officers responded to reports of suspicious activity in the 300 block of South 8th Street.

With prior knowledge of a probationer residing in the area, night shift officers conducted a proactive probation check at the residence. During the contact, officers arrested Michael Jimenez of Chowchilla for possession with intent to sell and possession of paraphernalia.

Great work by our night shift team, and thank you to our community for speaking up. Your awareness helps keep our city safe.

If you see something, say something.

On February 20, 2026, at approximately 2138 hours, Officer C. Lawson conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of S. Montgomery Lake Way for a vehicle equipment violation (no rear lighting).

During the stop, Officer Lawson located a concealed and loaded unregistered firearm equipped with an extended magazine. The 20-year-old driver from Yuba City was arrested on related weapons charges.

Proactive policing like this helps keep illegal fi****ms off our streets. Great work, Officer Lawson.
