GRDA is expanding its generation capabilities to meet Oklahoma’s growing energy needs with the addition of Unit 4 at the Grand River Energy Center. The new 426-megawatt natural gas unit adds fast-start generation capacity, helping GRDA respond to changing demand while continuing to provide reliable, affordable electricity for its customers.
As energy demand grows across the state, GRDA continues to invest in a diverse generation portfolio that includes natural gas, coal, hydro and wind, with battery storage also being explored for the future. Unit 4 is part of GRDA’s long-term commitment to building the infrastructure and flexibility needed to serve its customers today and into the future.
The Grand River Dam Authority has opened a new natural gas unit at its Grand River Energy Center in Choteau, adding nearly 500 megawatts of power to meet Oklahoma's growing energy demands.
