Volunteers are headed back out to ’s Meet Up and Chow Down sites across the region today with free bag lunches - and Summer Buddy Backpacks to take home for the weekend! - for children ages 1-18.

Our thanks to the local volunteers, kitchens, and communities who have united to feed children for this week of our free summer lunch program. Volunteers will be out Monday-Thursday, rain or shine, through September 3rd.

Though every United Way is independently operated, we gather as a state association twice a year to learn from each other and make better statewide impact.

As a veteran-serving organization, we'd like to express our gratitude to Press-Lloyd American Legion Post 247 and Minnesota Discovery Center for partnering to make this opportunity available to the public - and to all the local businesses and organizations serving as drop-off sites.

Press-Lloyd American Legion Post 247 is organizing a flag ceremony this Sunday at Minnesota Discovery Center that is open to the public.

Please share with someone you know who may have an American flag they need to retire properly!

Business and organizations around Chisholm are collecting flags in advance as are the Iron Range St. Louis County Veterans Service offices for those who are unable to attend the ceremony in-person.

’s free summer lunch program, Meet Up and Chow Down starts TODAY! (Gilbert site opens tomorrow.)

Jenna has served on our board since 2025 and is particularly passionate about building healthy communities and the well-being of older adults in our community. As a Bois Forte band member, she said it's great to see some of the different ways UWNEMN has partnered with Bois Forte programs and to think about ways to expand those partnerships.
