Today we reflect on the life and memory of Deputy Sheriff Joshua Rutherford who was killed in the line of duty on May 29th, 2003. Please keep Deputy Rutherford and his family in your thoughts and prayers today. He will never be forgotten.

Hello everybody! I know Absentee ballots are already in some of your hands but I wanted to take a minute to educate you on the Mill Levy increase that the Sheriff's Office is asking for this year. It's on the ballot for June as a ballot issue. If enough people say yes then it will be voted on in November.

I ask you to please consider voting yes for it.

The Sheriff's Office is public safety funded and has been for a decade. That means that our budget is based on the value of the Mill. Much like the local schools.

When this started, our operating budget was around $800,000. It is currently north of $1.2M. Again, keep in mind that we have not had a budget increase in over ten years.

Consider how much the price of everything has gone up in that time. Wages (cost of living), tires, fuel, etc... We cannot support our budget based on the Mills that we get anymore. That has become a burden on the general budget. This is why we are asking for an increase.

We are asking for an additional 12 mills which is approximately $173,000 annually. The increase sunsets in 10 years. It is further explained on your ballot.

Please vote yes for the ballot issue BLA-001 to get our increase on the ballot in November.

Don't hesitate to contact me with questions.

Thanks you,
Undersheriff

Newest Update: all items were recovered!

Update for clarification: Sunday’s tithes and offerings were locked away and secured, they were not touched.

This is a post I (Pastor Dylan) am saddened to make.

Between the hours of 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 5th, and 10:30 AM on Monday, April 6th, our church was broken into.

Along with the vandalism, several items were taken that directly impact our ability to minister effectively to our congregation and our community. Law enforcement has been notified, and due to the value of the stolen property, this is being treated as a felony.

There is a monetary reward being offered by an outside benefactor for information leading to the return of these items.

If the individual(s) responsible would return the property and meet with me personally, there may be an opportunity to resolve this without charges being pursued.

If you have any information, please contact:
