Law enforcement agencies throughout California have identified a growing crime trend involving small hidden cameras concealed in bushes and landscaping around homes and neighborhoods.

These cameras are often camouflaged to blend in with vegetation and may be connected to portable battery packs or power banks hidden nearby, allowing them to operate for extended periods of time. Criminals use these devices to monitor residents’ routines, identify opportunities, and gather information before committing crimes.

Stay alert and be aware of your surroundings.
Look for suspicious devices, wires, battery packs, or cameras hidden in landscaping.
If you discover a suspicious device, do not touch or remove it.
Contact your local police department so it can be safely investigated.

Your awareness and vigilance can help prevent crime and keep our communities safe.

Yesterday, members of the Chino Police Department were proud to participate in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Southern California, carrying the Flame of Hope alongside our partners from the California Institution for Men and the California Institution for Women. We received the torch from the Chino Hills Sheriff’s Station and proudly passed it on to the Montclair Police Department as it continued its journey.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing so many supporters, community members, and Special Olympics advocates cheering along the route. Your encouragement and enthusiasm made the run even more meaningful and provided some much-needed motivation to help our runners push through the heat. Thank you for helping make the event such a memorable experience.

A special shoutout to our Police Officers’ and Police Management Associations for hosting a great BBQ after the run. We are honored to support the athletes and help carry the Flame of Hope each year.
