Let's talk about soybeans! 🌱

Did you know that in 2025, Wisconsin harvested over 100 MILLION bushels of soybeans? That's over 6 billion pounds! In 2024, Calumet County produced over 1.4 million bushels!

This week, I had the pleasure of attending a field day centered around high oleic soybeans. We chatted about the importance of roasting soybeans if they're being fed to lactating dairy cows, as well as the differences in grinding sizes. Roasted soybeans increases the Rumen Undegradable Protein from 25% to 40-60%, which is beneficial because lactating cows need more amino acids in order to maintain milk production. Pictured below are a variety of soybeans grinded to different sizes for different purposes!
