Calumet County 4-H

Calumet County 4-H Calumet County 4-H is a program of the Calumet County University of Wisconsin-Extension. 4-H serves as a catalyst for positive community youth development.

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. 4-H is about having fun, learning, exploring and discovering. In 4-H, young people make new friends, develop new skills, become leaders and help shape their communities. The Wisconsin 4-H program was founded in 1914. Today about 50,000 Wisconsin youth are enrolled members of 4-H clubs in Wisconsin. Another 195,000 Wisconsin youth get involved in 4-H through special educational opportunities at school, in after school programs, or at neighborhood or youth centers. These youth live in cities, suburbs, small towns and rural communities.

4-H in Calumet County began as corn clubs in 1918 with the first 4-H community Club (Sherwood Wide Awake) being founded in 1931. Today we have sixteen 4-H Community Clubs, approximately 380 youth members, and about 150 adult volunteers. In addition to the community club program, Calumet County 4-H also offers youth leadership opportunities through community programs, school programs, and after school programs.

๐Ÿ’š What a wonderful day of exploring sparks at Festival of Fun! ๐ŸŒŸ

Today, our youth tried new things, made new friends, shared ideas for the future, and made memories along the way! It was so much fun watching them explore new interests, get hands-on, and discover what makes them light up. Who knows what new sparks were ignited today! โœจ

A HUGE thank-you to all of our amazing youth and adult volunteers who led sessions, encouraged and assisted participants, shared their knowledge, and helped clean up after all the hands-on fun. We couldnโ€™t have done it without you! ๐Ÿ’š

Thatโ€™s what 4-H is all about โ€” exploring your sparks, discovering new interests, building friendships, and growing together in a fun, welcoming, and safe environment.

Thank you to everyone who made today so special! We canโ€™t wait to see where these sparks lead next! ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ€ Calling All Cloverbuds! ๐Ÿ€

Weโ€™re excited to share that our Calumet County Cloverbud Club schedule for the entire 4-H year is officially set, and we know exactly what adventures, activities, and topics we'll be exploring together!

One of the best parts? Last year's Cloverbuds helped plan this year's meetings! We asked our youngest members what they wanted to learn about, create, and experience, and their ideas helped shape the year ahead.

Cloverbuds are 4-H members in Kindergarten through 2rd grade. Through hands-on activities, games, crafts, STEM, outdoor exploration, and more, youth have the opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, build confidence, and discover all that 4-H has to offer in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Our Cloverbud Club meets on the third Thursday of each month from 6:00-7:00 p.m. at the Calumet County Courthouse, and we can't wait to welcome both returning and new members for another year of learning, laughter, and discovery.

Interested in joining the fun? We'd love to have you be part of the Cloverbud experience!๐Ÿ’š
