Deputy Clerk, Juvenile Division

Position Description:

This position performs a variety of clerical and typing duties for the juvenile division. The position is expected to prepare the required monthly reporting, process juvenile files, prepare file folders; set hearing dates in the docket, prepares and sends certified mail for cases. The applicant would serve as a backup to court reporting. The position is expected to be professional and communicate with attorneys, public and law enforcement to schedule and maintain data entry into the court docket.

Position requires the following:
• High school diploma and preferred one year of clerical or business experience
• Ability to type 50-55 WPM
• Proficiency in reading, writing and arithmetic
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel
• Participate in training and use the court data management system
• Ability to multi-task
• Understand and maintain confidentiality
• Applicants are subject to a background check and have no previous legal history
• Perform other duties assigned by the Judge and Magistrates
• Applicant must be detail oriented

This position has a salary range of $16.00-$16.50 per hour based on experience. The position also includes county health benefits, public employee’s retirement (PERS), vacation and sick leave accruals.
