The Mayor of the City of Chillicothe, Missouri is now accepting applications to fill one (1) board vacancy.
The opening is to fill an expired term, starting on June 1, 2026 ,and is a four-year term.

Airport Advisory Board– they meet at 5:15 pm, on the second Tuesday in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. These meetings are usually held at the Chillicothe City Hall, 715 Washington Street, Chillicothe, MO.

All applicants to be considered shall be residents of the City, who have resided in the City for not less than one (1) year before the effective date of their appointment.

Any interested parties can pick up a board volunteer form at the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 715 Washington Street, Chillicothe, Missouri or go on to the City’s website. www.chillicothecity.org

Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL REAL ESTATE
TAKE NOTICE that the City of Chillicothe intends to sell the property located at 821 Walnut St. also described as:
Lot Two (2) of Block Twelve (12) of the Original Survey of the City of Chillicothe, Livingston County, Missouri.
By sealed bids submitted to the City Clerk, 715 Washington St., Chillicothe, Missouri 64601 marked “821 Walnut Bid” not later than 4:00 p.m. on May 20, 2026.
The property is being sold “AS IS” by special warranty deed, but the City will pay for the demolition of the existing home on such property prior to the closing. The sale is subject to a restrictive covenant that the successful bidder must commence material construction of a single family residence compliant with all City codes and zoning requirements on the property within 2 years of the sale date, and, if no material construction is timely commenced, then the property will be sold back to the City for its purchase price.

Public Notice: City Council Vacancy – Second Ward
The City of Chillicothe is seeking to fill a current vacancy for the Second Ward Councilmember position. Theresa Kelly is accepting letters of interest from qualified residents of the Second Ward who wish to be considered for appointment to the City Council.
This appointment will fill an unexpired term and will remain in effect until April 2027. The position is an elected office, with municipal elections held every two years for all city officials.
To be eligible, candidates must have been residents of the City of Chillicothe for at least one year prior to the election, live in the 2nd Ward, and must be registered voters before the applicable registration deadline.
The City of Chillicothe is committed to maintaining a government that is accessible, responsive, and engaged with its citizens. The City Council plays a vital role in guiding the community’s growth and development. The Council consists of five members and meets on the second and last Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
