Ross County | Building A Better Bridge Street

This week started with pouring rain, but ended with pouring concrete. Crews continued to pour the concrete for the ramp from southbound Bridge Street to U.S. 35 west. They still have to pour concrete for the shoulder. They also began the pour for the southbound lanes of Bridge Street between North Plaza Blvd. and U.S. 35.

Between the U.S. 35 east off ramp and Stewart Road, crews installed the storm drainage system and catch basins. They also began laying the base for the roadway.

Businesses along the corridor remain open and accessible. You can find multiple travel scenarios, live cams, frequently asked questions, and information about the project at transportation.ohio.gov/BridgeStreet.

The crash attenuator: It stands sentinel at the very back of a highway work zone. This one protected the ODOT crew working on U.S. 24 in Paulding County on May 6 of this year. The equipment did its job, the driver of the commercial vehicle that struck it did not. Heed the law: Move Over, Slow Down for flashing lights along the highway.
