One of the most tucked-away step-back-in-time spots in Alabama is Kymulga Grist Mill Park. You pull in under the trees, hear the creek moving, and catch that cool, damp river-air as the old mill comes into view. You wander the trails, cross the little bridges, and take in the weathered timbers and stonework that still feel sturdy and real. You slow down for the covered bridge, the mill pond, and those quiet photo angles that look like they’ve been waiting on you all day. You pack a simple picnic, sip something cold, and let the kids burn off energy while you claim a shady table.
