🇺🇸 REMEMBERING 9/11 — 25 YEARS LATER 🇺🇸

This September 11th marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The Chicopee Facilities Department is honored to help remember and pay tribute to the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day.

As part of our remembrance, Chicopee Facilities staff have placed American flags at City-owned properties throughout Chicopee. These flags serve as a symbol of our nation’s strength, unity, resilience, and our commitment to never forget those we lost.

A big thank you to our Facilities Staff George, Aiden, Lorenzo, and Dina for all their hard work supporting the Primary Election and the Clerks office!

From setting up the election equipment and preparing the polling locations to tearing everything down after the polls closed, our Facilities team was there to make sure everything was ready and returned to normal.

Your hard work, long hours, and commitment to keeping our city election running smoothly are greatly appreciated.

Thank you to all of our Facilities staff for a job well done! 💪🏛️

🚧🚧City Hall Phase 2 Update🚧🚧

We are pleased to announce that the second-floor wheelchair lift at Chicopee City Hall is now fully operational!

This important improvement provides ADA-accessible access to the second floor, including:

♿ City Clerk’s Office
♿ Human Resources
♿ Retirement Office
♿ Second-Floor Conference Room

We are proud to continue improving accessibility at City Hall and ensuring that our municipal services are accessible to everyone.

🚧 PUBLIC NOTICE – FORMER UNIROYAL SITE DEMOLITION

Demolition work at the former Uniroyal Site will continue today as crews resume with the controlled demolition of the Fisk Smokestack.

⚠️ Please be advised: This is a controlled demolition operation that is expected to take more than a couple of days to complete.

🚲 The bike path along the flood wall will remain CLOSED during demolition operations. There will be no public access to the area immediately surrounding the demolition site.

For everyone’s safety, please respect all barricades, closure signs, and restricted areas, and do not attempt to enter the work zone.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation while this work is safely completed.

Overnight there will be a police detail posted on the site to prevent safety breaches until the demolition project is complete.
