I want to congratulate our Chicopee Pacers and Colts for playing their hearts out tonight and proudly bringing home the Hooplandia Belt 2025!

It was a hard-fought 3-on-3 battle that came down to the wire—an incredible showcase of talent, hustle, and heart from both sides. We deeply respect the fierce and honorable competition brought by the Holyoke Purple Knights, who left it all on the court.

A special thank you to my friend and colleague, Mayor Joshua A. Garcia, for helping to reignite the spirit of the Holyoke-Chicopee rivalry. Tonight wasn’t just about basketball—it was about community, pride, and the power of sport to bring people together.

I’m so proud of the athletes who represented our cities with such passion and class. It was a great night at the Big E!

It's on! The newest rivalry game is going down! 🏀 Mayor Joshua A. Garcia is coaching the Holyoke Knights while I have the honor of coaching our Chicopee Pacer/Colts! We are competing for nothing more than the for the love of the game and, of course, some bragging rights! This is about so much more than just winning; it's about local pride and celebrating our cities! I invite everyone to come and witness this epic showdown! It's going to be a night to remember...

Tomorrow night at Hooplandia, Chicopee’s talent will be on full display—and bragging rights are on the line!

Nobody loves a rivalry game more than we do. Our players are ready to leave it all on the court.

Mayor Joshua A. Garcia —I know you understand what it means to win (or lose!) with dignity and class. That said... do you even play basketball? 😄

Word on the street is Mayor John Vieau has a little coaching experience, so this might not be a fair matchup.
