She serves as an Assistant Director of Human Resources, helping others with care and professionalism, and she’s active in theatre, her church, and numerous civic and nonprofit efforts. We are thrilled to announce that our very own home-grown, Gracie Richey, will be taking the stage on the square October 17th. Gracie is officially kicking off Chico Fest at 10:00 AM, so make sure you arrive early to catch her incredible opening performance! When she isn't sharing her amazing voice on stage, you can find her making magic happen at the Sweet Spot Salon in Bridgeport.

A little bird (thank you, Rick Bowling!) shared some exciting news — a new business has opened on the Chico Square and they’re officially open for shoppers. Yellow Rose!!

I stopped in today and it’s a quaint, charming little shop full of cute finds — dishes, lamps, clothes, shoes, and unique household items. You’re sure to spot something fun.

⚡️Today we’re shining the spotlight on one of Chico’s true small-town treasures — Chico Florist! 💐

For more than 30 years, Jane Burgess has poured her heart into Chico Florist, creating beautiful arrangements for funerals, homecoming mums, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and all of life’s special occasions. Her creativity and love for flowers have made Chico Florist a special part of so many important moments in our community.

Jane’s commitment to Chico goes far beyond flowers. Each month, she prepares a huge, home-cooked meal for the Chico Chamber luncheon/meeting, sharing not only her cooking but also her generosity and hospitality with the community. ❤️

Her dedication has not gone unnoticed. Jane and Chico Florist have received:

Chico Butane was honored as a Texas Treasure Historic Business on Thursday, September 10th, as they celebrated more than 50 years of service to the community.

Among those in attendance were State Representative Andy Hopper, County Judge J.D. Clark, Chairman of the Wise County Historical Commission, Kerry Clower. Representing the Chico Chamber of Commerce was Jeanette Shaw and Vice President Terry Hand.

A heartfelt thank‑you to G.A. Buckner for over 50 years of dedication, hard work, and commitment to Chico and Wise County. Your service continues to make a lasting impact.
