The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $20,557 to the Stirling City Volunteer Fire Department to replace a fire engine used to respond to medical emergencies and wildland fires. The grant provides the required 5% local match to purchase the engine, while Butte County Fire will cover the other 95%.

The "Food Insecurity Relief Fund" section of the report talks about the work that happened to keep our community fed in light of the government shutdown in October 2025 that left food assistance programs in peril.

Check out the Habitat for Humanity of Butte County event, Veterans R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed) Day of Service on Saturday, Sept. 12. The day is an opportunity for veterans and active-duty service members to reconnect through service and strengthen our community.

Volunteers will build at a Habitat construction site in Chico or Paradise, with the location to be announced. No construction experience is needed and lunch will be provided.

The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $15,000 for the Sky Ranch Community Protection Project in eastern Tehama County. The Resource Conservation District of Tehama County hopes to remove hazardous vegetation to provide a fuel break around the community of Sky Ranch.

The Drought Relief Program section of the report covers the work we have done over the last almost five years in Tehama and Glenn counties. It covers the amount of water delivered, households served, tanks installed and water assessments performed.

The Donna Murrill Wildfire Fund at NVCF has granted $15,000 to the Cohasset Ridge Prescribed Burn Association to help purchase an equipment trailer to oversee prescribed burns and fuel removal projects in Cohasset, Richardson Springs and Campbellville. The organization is part of the Healthy Forest Alliance.
