DREXEL COUNSELING SERVICES, INC., HONORED AMONG 11 BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LEADERS

On Friday, August 21, 2026, Ms. Kathy Hardin Earl, founder of Drexel Counseling Services, Inc., was recognized at America’s Behavioral Health Providers’ Ultimate Salute, held at the Naren Patel Auditorium in Hillside, Illinois.

Hosted by Illinois State Representative La Shawn K. Ford, the invitation-only event celebrated Congressman Danny K. Davis’s extraordinary legacy of leadership and honored 11 behavioral health leaders whose work continues to strengthen communities and transform lives.

Among the hundreds of behavioral health and substance use treatment providers serving Chicago, Drexel Counseling Services, Inc., stood among those recognized, an achievement reflecting the organization’s longstanding commitment to recovery, compassionate care, and second chances.

Under Ms. Hardin Earl’s leadership, Drexel has remained dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome challenges, rebuild their lives, and move forward with purpose.

This recognition honors not only her vision and leadership but also the staff, partners, and clients who contribute to Drexel’s mission every day.

💜💛 ANNUAL CLIENT APPRECIATION DAY 2026 💛💜

Another great Client Appreciation Day is in the books!

Every August, Drexel Counseling Services, Inc. sets aside a day to celebrate the people at the heart of what we do, our clients. It is our way of saying we see you, we appreciate you, and we are glad you are here.

So, on Friday, August 7th, we did just that! And we had a GREAT time doing it!

There was music, dancing, games, plenty of food, and prizes throughout the morning and early afternoon. Most of all, there were smiles and fellowship, and a chance for everyone to enjoy the day together.

Founder Kathy Hardin Earl and Executive Director Talisa Hardin extend their sincere appreciation to the staff whose planning, hard work, and teamwork bring this event together year after year.

And we cannot forget our Hardin House residents, who roll up their sleeves every year to help serve our guests. They are an important part of making Client Appreciation Day happen, and their help is truly appreciated.

To everyone who helped, participated, danced, laughed, served, won a prize, or came out and enjoyed the day, thank you for making Client Appreciation Day 2026 a success. See you in 2027!

Joy, Diversity, Sisterhood, Resilience, and Straight-up Energy happened on May 16th .

With 40 phenomenal women filling the house with laughter, love, music, games, fellowship, food, prizes, dancing, hugs, and unforgettable sisterhood… the Hardin House Ladies' “Funtivities” Event became one of those moments that will be talked about for a very long time.

From karaoke to game-time competition… to candid laughs, happy tears, and genuine connections… the house was overflowing with joy.

Special gratitude to Ms. Kathy Hardin Earl and Talisa Hardin for your continued leadership and for creating spaces where women in recovery can laugh, heal, grow, and simply enjoy life.

A very special and heartfelt THANK YOU to President Glenda Anderson and the incredible Sorors of Alpha Theta Omega Christian Sorority, Inc., Tau Alpha DCN Alumni Chapter for your vision, generosity, and the love you poured into our ladies. On behalf of Ms. Kathy Hardin Earl, Founder; Talisa Hardin, Executive Director; and the residents of Hardin House, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rev. Tommie Johnson of OTW Ministries for the invitation to their annual Christmas Celebration and Gift Giveaway on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

As in years past, the love, generosity, and intentional care shown to our residents were truly extraordinary. The residents of Hardin House returned home with remarkable gifts that brought both joy and encouragement—ranging from laptops and smartwatches to fine linens and other thoughtful items. In a particularly heartwarming moment, every child in attendance received a new bicycle, ensuring smiles that will last well beyond the holiday season.

The celebration itself was nothing short of joyful. Abundant food, lively fellowship, and continuous fun filled the room throughout the three-hour event, creating an atmosphere of warmth, dignity, and community. We are deeply grateful to OTW Ministries for consistently exemplifying the spirit of giving and for reminding our residents that they are seen, valued, and supported.

On Friday, December 19, 2025, Hardin House / Drexel Counseling Services, Inc., in conjunction with Prentice Place, hosted our annual Christmas Party at Prentice Place. The celebration featured delicious food, a festive Secret Santa gift exchange, and a special opportunity to thank our dedicated staff again for another outstanding year of service.

This year, we were proud to honor three exceptional employees—one from each agency—as Employee of the Year: Alice Jones of Drexel Counseling Services, Inc., Connie Sue Jefferson of Hardin House, and Shaunika Hodo of Prentice Place. Congratulations and well deserved.
