Chicago Poster Restoration, formerly Poster Plus Conservation began doing poster conservation work in 1975 for the Poster Plus vintage inventory, and since 1989 our services have been widely used by collectors, galleries and museums. Our work is represented in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Pritzker Military Library, The Yale Center for British Art, The Chicago History Museum

, The Polish Museum of America, The Library of Congress, and the Tibbals Learning Center of the Ringling Museum and important private collections. Vincent Newkirk, owner and head conservator of Chicago Poster Restoration, managed the Poster Plus Conservation Department for 25 of those 35 years of poster conservation. Newkirk received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with honors in 1982 from Indiana University SE and his Master of Fine Arts in 1985 from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. His focus on studio arts with special interests in art history and art preservation inevitably led him to a career in art conservation. Chicago Poster Restoration follows those guiding principles of preservation that the integrity and the longevity of the poster is preserved. All work is done with the utmost caution and consideration of the art involved and our processes are archival and reversible with minimal risk of further damage to the poster. Newkirk and his expertly trained staff share a love of poster art and the history that it represents as well as a respect for those who collect and preserve our past. Chicago Poster Restoration makes it a priority to treat its customers and their posters with a care and understanding that befits the importance that their collections represent.
