Despite our chapter leadership urging administration otherwise, the Sun-Times and WBEZ have published this disappointing report:
"But the City Colleges of Chicago...haven’t complied with three of the four key requirements...the procedures...don’t lay out how staff members are supposed to document interactions with immigration agents or notify staff or students if agents are looking for information about them. And there’s no contact for reporting sightings of agents on the school system’s website."
Advocates have touted the Illinois law that applies to public colleges as a model, but some colleges don’t make it easy to find information and don't have protocols for what to do if immigration agents come on campus.
