2/22/17 marks the 3rd anniversary of my Mom”s passing. We celebrated with Carolyn Hicks, Director of Renaissance Adult Daycare & Home Maker Services (Mom Loved it there, and they loved her right back! Check out their FB page) Here’s to you Dr. G!, you will remain in our hearts forever. As the daughter of an immigrant, I cannot help but reflect on how my Mom came to this country, with little more than her undying belief in the American Dream. She proudly became an American citizen, and proclaimed America as the greatest country in the world.

Dr. G! completed a 2nd residency at Provident Hospital, and overcame countless discrimination barriers to become a Pediatric Gastroenterologist! Dr. G! practiced medicine for over 55 years, treated multiple generations of families (regardless of their ability to pay, race, or ethnicity), and saved 1000’s of lives.

My heart is heavy due to the loss of my Beloved Mom. However, the thought of loosing the principles of Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All that our country was founded on; is terrifying. The concept of an America that did not continue to welcome immigrants from around the world, is unimaginable. The prospect of loosing of all of the talent, intelligence, work ethics, faith, hope, and traditions immigrants and their descendants would contribute to America…breaks my heart. Please make your voices & votes heard; keep Our America the land of the free, and the American Dream Alive! 💔🙏🏾
