Tomorrow, August 24th, is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL for CPS students and it’s Ukrainian Independence Day, which means it’s going to be a great day! Students can wear their Vishivanka or blue and yellow to school tomorrow to celebrate! We can’t wait to see everyone!

Thank you to everyone who came to our Back to School Bash yesterday! We were so happy to see everyone after the summer and we had so much fun meeting all of our new students and families!

An extra special, thank you to the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Police Department, West Town Library, the CPS Department of Health and Wellness and to our own Friends of Ginsburg parent group for joining us and supporting our amazing afternoon!

We can’t wait to see everyone on Monday for the first day of school!

Join Us for the Chicago Back to School Bash at Union Park!

Get ready for the new school year with Mayor Brandon Johnson and the City of Chicago at the Chicago Back to School Bash on Saturday, August 22, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Union Park (1501 W. Randolph Street)!

Families can access a wide variety of free resources and fun activities, including:

Free Supplies: Backpack distribution, school-supply vouchers, and food vouchers.

Health Services: On-site vaccination stations and sports physicals.

Food & Family Fun: Free food trucks, family-friendly entertainment, and activity zones for kids, youth, and teens.

Community Resources: College and career planning, City department resources, and Chicago Public Library support (including homework help, digital tools, and the 81 Club).

We hope to see your family there as we prepare for a successful school year!
