"We, the undersigned founding members of the Progressive Party, having come together in a pursuit of high discourse and debate of the various political, economic, social, moral, religious, philosophical, and other issues facing our nation and the world in which we live, in order to create a party dedicated to this discourse, the safeguarding of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, the prot
ection of free pure intellectual thought, the pursuit of further knowledge and enlightenment, the exposition of higher goals and a more rational discourse, dedicated to the progressive ideals of our intellectual forefathers, dedicated to the proposition that all men and women are created equal and are endowed with certain inalienable rights, searching for a stronger, more intellectually perfect progressivism and liberalism, trusting in the power of good policy and rational thought to circulate our ideas and ideals outward to the wider world, engaging with our peers both Left and Right in spirited intellectual rational debate, and perpetually working towards a better and more liberal future, do hereby establish and ordain this Constitution of the Progressive Party."
