📅 Important 2024 Cook County Board of Review Dates & Deadlines!

If you're in Cook County, make sure to note the upcoming Board of Review sessions. Jefferson Township will be open from December 19, 2024, to January 17, 2025. Bloom, Hanover, Niles, North Chicago, and South Chicago sessions will run from January 6 to February 4, 2025.

Several townships are CLOSED for the 2024 session, including: Evanston, Norwood Park, River Forest, Riverside, Rogers Park, Berwyn, Bremen, Calumet, Maine, New Trier, Oak Park, Palos, Cicero, Elk Grove, Stickney, West Chicago, Barrington, Lakeview, Lemont, Palatine, Worth, Hyde Park, Leyden, Lyons, Northfield, Orland, Proviso, Wheeling, Lake, Rich, Schaumburg, and Thornton.

Yesterday, I had the honor of being sworn in once again as your Cook County Board of Review Third District Commissioner, marking an incredible milestone—20 years in office! Serving this community has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I am deeply grateful for the trust you’ve placed in me over the years.

The day was made even more special by the presence of my family—my wife, Rolanda, and our children, Dominique, Erin, and Sydney, who joined me to celebrate this achievement. Though our daughter Jordan couldn’t be there as she’s away at college, she was with us in spirit.

Thank you for believing in me and allowing me to serve. I look forward to continuing to work on your behalf and making a difference together.

As we enter November, we want to honor the bravery and sacrifices of our veterans and their families. This month is dedicated to recognizing the service of those who have defended our freedoms, and we especially remember the surviving spouses of our fallen heroes.

We are pleased to remind you about the Surviving Spouse Tax Abatement program available for the surviving spouses of fallen police officers, soldiers, and rescue workers in Cook County. This program provides essential property tax relief to those who have faced the profound loss of a loved one in the line of duty.

Key Details of the Surviving Spouse Tax Abatement:
• Eligibility: Surviving spouses who have not remarried and whose partners died in the line of duty or active service.
• Properties: Homes occupied by up to two families that were the primary residence of the surviving spouse at the time of death.
• Abatement: Qualified applicants may receive a 100% abatement on City of Chicago property taxes and up to 100% on Cook County taxes.

This November, let’s come together to honor our veterans and support their families. We encourage you to share this important information with anyone who may benefit from the tax abatement program
