UPUDATE: I-24 Reopened at 11 and 16mm - Power Line Replacement Completed

Site is cleared - All lanes opoen

PADUCAH, Ky. (March 15, 2024) – At the request of Jackson Purchase Energy, McCracken County Emergency Services blocked a section of Interstate 24 at Paducah Exit 11 and Paducah-Reidland Exit 16 to allow a power line to be replaced.

Traffic was exited off to detour along U.S. 68, U.S. 62, U.S. 60 and KY 1954/John Puryear Drive between the two exits.

Originally expected to take up to one hour, the work was completed in about 15 minutes.

The site is cleared. All lanes are open.

The roadway will close at 4:15 a.m., CST, and remain closed for approximately 1 hour. Traffic will be exited off to detour along U.S. 68, U.S. 62, U.S. 60 and KY 1954/John Puryear Drive between the two exits.

Estimated duration is 1 hour or approximately 5:15 a.m.,

JUST ANNOUNCED: Explore transportation history with WisDOT’s online archive of highway maps over the past 100 years. The first edition of the state highway map was printed in 1918 for public distribution. Since then, Wisconsinites and visitors reference the highway maps to reach their destination or simply explore the wonders across the state.
