While on shift at the firehouse, Lt. Joe Lambert experienced a medical emergency that resulted in cardiac arrest. Lt. Mike Curtin of the Chicago Fire Department has served his city for over 29 years, and has been with his wife Lisa for over 28. He is currently undergoing chemotherapy, and staying strong in his fight.

Today I had the pleasure of going to city hall to watch members of the Chicago Fire and Police department receive awards for heroic actions that they were a part of. Most notable for me was three members of Truck 49 who received the Lambert Tree, the highest award the city gives out. It was awesome to see such deserving guys get recognized. Well done guys! Congratulations to all members who received an award!
