Dear Hitch Families,
We want you to be aware of the procedures in place for how we allow people to access our building. We are not making any new rules, but we are being more vigilant in enforcing rules that already exist.
Effective immediately, anyone who is not a student or employee at Hitch School, must enter the building through either Door #6 or Door #2 (these are the two doors with bells). If your children are entering through Door #5 in the morning, and you need to also access the building, we ask that you allow your child to enter with their class, and you enter through Door #6 (parking lot) and go into the office for a visitor’s pass. Please do not enter the building and go to your child’s locker with them. If they require your assistance because they are bringing something extra to school that day, please enter door #2 or #6 with your child, and come to the office for a visitor’s pass. If there is a reason why your child requires special assistance on a daily basis (for example, due to a disability), please discuss it with your child’s teacher so arrangements can be made for a buddy student, older student or staff member at Hitch to assist.
In light of recent events, we are continuing to look at security concerns and will keep families updated regarding any changes. Please be aware we count on every one of you to be vigilant when you are visiting and in informing the school office of any suspicious person. We also would like you to let us know if you are aware of any area that you feel could be a security risk. As family members of students at Hitch School, we know the safety or our students, faculty, staff, and visitors is of utmost importance to you as well as to us.
Thank you for your cooperation with this important issue.
