Young Women’s Giving Council of CFW invests in and empowers girls and young women in the Chicago region to create social change. We are young professionals committed to supporting young women and girls through philanthropic efforts. We utilize our strength as a network of young women to fundraise in order to make grants to local groups annually. In addition, we develop the potential of women as le

aders and philanthropists, empowering them through educational programming, leadership opportunities, and professional development. Mission: The Young Women’s Giving Council powers transformational change towards an equitable and just society by investing in community-based organizations that center the experiences of BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color) girls, young women, and trans and gender non-binary young people in the Chicago region through a community led approach.

"It’s probably not an overstatement to say that the black middle class was built on the backs of Pullman porters. They virtually bankrolled and provided the organizational infrastructure of the modern Civil Rights movement."

The Pullman porters organized their own union, the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters, and played a critical role in organizing to advance racial justice and social change. Happy belated Labor Day!
