Kids First Chicago is hosting an evening of connection and conversation TOMORROW from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at 2520 S Western Ave. Come meet your school board representatives—Emma Lozano (District 7A), Angel Gutierrez (District 8A), and Yesenia Lopez (District 7B). This is a valuable chance to ask questions, share your perspectives, and discuss what matters most for our schools and communities.

Thank you Julie Morrison for meeting with us and giving us the opportunity to discuss our campus resources and how we plan to support our students beyond high-school.

Myriam, a District 29 constituent, stopped by my Springfield office this week as part of the Noble College Team — a group of alumni counselors who work with students to plan their education post-high school. It’s wonderful to see local residents in the Capitol and discuss how we can better support students.

Kids First Chicago invites all CPS parents and guardians to join an in-person town hall meeting on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 3:30 pm, to express concerns, share insights, and discuss our city’s educational future.

Confronting budget constraints, ongoing efforts to sustain students’ academic recovery, and a transition towards an elected school board, the need for Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to engage parents has never been more critical. The decisions made today will impact CPS families for years to come. It's about more than just policies or strategic plans. It's about ensuring CPS parent voices are part of the conversations that shape the future of education in Chicago.

Together, we can advocate for a system that is inclusive, equitable, and reflective of our community’s values.
