เมื่อวันที่ 14 พฤษภาคม 2569 นางสาวปิยะฉัตร พิมจันทึก ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครชิคาโก (สคต.ชิคาโก) พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่ ได้ให้การต้อนรับคุณ Danny และ คุณ Orapan Ramnarong พร้อมครอบครัว เจ้าของร้านอาหารไทย Thai Diner ณ เมือง Fort Wayne รัฐ Indiana ในโอกาสเดินทางมาเยือนนครชิคาโก

ร้าน Thai Diner เปิดดำเนินกิจการมากว่า 4 ปี และนับเป็นอีกหนึ่งร้านอาหารไทยที่ได้รับความนิยมจากผู้บริโภคในพื้นที่ โดยก่อนหน้านี้เจ้าของร้านเคยประกอบกิจการร้านอาหารไทยและได้รับตราสัญลักษณ์ Thai SELECT ซึ่งเป็นเครื่องหมายรับรองคุณภาพและมาตรฐานอาหารไทยจากประเทศไทย สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นในการถ่ายทอดรสชาติและเอกลักษณ์ความเป็นไทยสู่ผู้บริโภคชาวต่างชาติอย่างต่อเนื่อง

ในการพบปะครั้งนี้ สคต.ชิคาโก ได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับบทบาทสำคัญของร้านอาหารไทยในสหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งเปรียบเสมือนด “Soft Power” ที่ช่วยเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรม วิถีชีวิต และเสน่ห์ของประเทศไทยผ่านอาหารไทยอันเป็นที่ยอมรับในระดับสากล ทั้งยังมีส่วนสำคัญในการสร้างภาพลักษณ์ที่ดีและเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันใกล้ชิดระหว่างประชาชนไทยและชาวอเมริกันในท้องถิ่น

นอกจากนี้ สคต.ชิคาโก ยังได้เน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการรักษาคุณภาพ วัตถุดิบ และมาตรฐานรสชาติความเป็นไทย เพื่อสร้างความเชื่อมั่นและความประทับใจแก่ผู้บริโภคอย่างยั่งยืน อันจะนำไปสู่การส่งเสริมศักยภาพของธุรกิจร้านอาหารไทยในต่างประเทศอย่างมั่นคงต่อไปในอนาคต

On May 14, 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center Chicago (TTC Chicago), together with the office staff, welcomed Mr. Danny and Ms. Orapan Ramnarong and their family, owners of the Thai Diner, Thai restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana, during their visit to Chicago.

Thai Diner has been in operation for more than four years and is recognized as one of the popular Thai restaurants among local consumers in the area. Previously, the owners operated another Thai restaurant that received the Thai SELECT certification, a mark of quality and authenticity awarded by the Royal Thai Government. This recognition reflects their continued commitment to delivering authentic Thai flavors and culture to international consumers.

During the meeting, TTC Chicago exchanged views on the important role of Thai restaurants in the United States, which serve as a form of “Soft Power” in promoting Thai culture, lifestyle, and the unique charm of Thailand through internationally acclaimed Thai cuisine. Thai restaurants also play a significant role in enhancing Thailand’s image and fostering closer relationships between Thai people and local American communities.

In addition, TTC Chicago emphasized the importance of maintaining the quality of ingredients, authenticity of flavors, and Thai culinary standards in order to build long-term consumer confidence and positive impressions. Such efforts will further strengthen the sustainable growth and potential of Thai restaurant businesses overseas in the future.

On May 14, 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of Thai Trade Center-Chicago (TTC Chicago) together with staff, welcomed the executives from Sugarcane Ecoware Co., Ltd., a Thai manufacturer of eco-friendly packaging made from sugarcane bagasse pulp. The meeting aimed to discuss and exchange information on the environmentally friendly packaging the U.S. market.

The executives was led by Mr. Sarit Tangtongwechakit (Director), Mr. Thanat Tangtongwechakit (Director), and Mr. Pipat Kittitachpongporn (General Manager). They travel to exhibit at the National Restaurant Association Show 2026 (NRA Show 2026), held from May 16–20, 2026, at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois, USA. The NRA Show is the largest foodservice and restaurant industry trade exhibition in North America.

Sugarcane Ecoware Co., Ltd. is a manufacturer of packaging products made from sugarcane bagasse pulp under the promotion of the Board of Investment (BOI) of Thailand. The company focuses on developing environmentally friendly products. Its product range includes food boxes, plates, bowls, trays, and cutlery, with a production capacity of over 500 million pieces per year. The company has obtained international certifications for export, reflecting the potential of Thai entrepreneurs in developing sustainable packaging industries that are competitive in the global market.

During the discussion, TTC Chicago shared insights on trends in the sugarcane bagasse packaging market in the United States, which continues to grow due to its durability, heat resistance, and suitability for hot and oily foods. This growth is further driven by increasing environmental awareness and policies to reduce single-use plastics in many U.S. states. The office also provided guidance on trade opportunities and potential trade shows in the U.S. to support Thai entrepreneurs in expanding their markets and building international business networks on an ongoing basis.

• Green Leaf Thai Cuisine, located at 4658 N. Western Ave. in the Lincoln Square neighborhood
• Cozy Noodles N’ Rice, located at 3456 N. Sheffield Ave., a well-known Thai restaurant that has long been part of the Wrigley Field neighborhood, home of the Chicago Cubs baseball team
• Mahanakhon and Noodle Bar, located at 2907 N. Lincoln Ave. in the Lakeview neighborhood
• Krung Thep Thai Cuisine, located at 3205 N. Halsted St. in the Lakeview neighborhood

On this occasion, TTC Chicago expressed its appreciation to the Thai restaurant operators who have received the Thai SELECT certification for their important role in promoting the image of Thai cuisine, preserving authentic Thai flavors, and maintaining the quality and standards of Thai food among American consumers.

In addition, discussions were held on possible promotional
activities and public relations initiatives to further raise awareness and recognition of the Thai SELECT label among American consumers. On May 12, 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago (TTC Chicago), together with staff members, paid a visit to and held discussions with Truong Enterprises Inc. The TTC Chicago was welcomed by Ms. Jasmine Truong, Director of Strategy, and Ms. Bella Truong, Director of Strategy, who also guided them on a tour of the company’s warehouse facilities.
Truong Enterprises Inc. is a major importer, wholesaler, and distributor of Asian food products in Chicago. Its main product categories include fresh produce, frozen foods, and grocery products. The company’s primary customers consist of retail stores, mainstream supermarkets, and foodservice businesses.
During the meeting, TTC Chicago and the company exchanged views on opportunities to expand the importation of Thai products, as well as cooperation on marketing and promotional activities for Thai products in the United States. The company has continuously imported Thai products and has collaborated with TTC Chicago on several sales promotion activities in the past, while also providing ongoing support for the office’s initiatives and events.

On May 13, 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago (TTC Chicago), together with officials from the office, welcomed Mr. Suchin Prapaisil, Honorary Trade Advisor (HTA) to the Ministry of Commerce on International Trade Affairs for the State of Missouri, on the occasion of his visit to Chicago.
During the visit, TTC Chicago and Mr. Suchin exchanged views and experiences on trade-related matters, particularly in the areas of retail business and trends in American consumer behavior in purchasing consumer goods. The discussion provided highly valuable insights for enhancing and strengthening the capabilities of Thai entrepreneurs in the United States market.
Over the years, Mr. Suchin has served in an important representative capacity in safeguarding and promoting Thailand’s trade interests, while also fostering a positive image of Thailand among the U.S. business sector and local authorities. In addition, he has continuously provided useful marketing advice and recommendations to Thai entrepreneurs.
Mr. Suchin Prapaisil is regarded as a successful Thai entrepreneur and a dedicated individual who has consistently contributed to the Thai community in the State of Missouri. Stephens Convention Center เมือง Rosemont รัฐ Illinois สหรัฐอเมริกา ซึ่งจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 6–8 พฤษภาคม 2569

On 8 May 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of Thai Trade Center-Chicago (TTCC) together with her staff, visited the h+h americas 2026 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois . The event was held from 6–8 May 2026.
The h+h americas 2026 is an international B2B trade show for the global hobby and craft industry. It is one of the world’s key platforms for this sector and has been held for five consecutive years through a collaboration between Koelnmesse and Craft Industry Alliance. The event serves as a networking platform connecting entrepreneurs, designers, and buyers from around the world.
This year, the organizers also announced the first Fall Edition of h+h americas, scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas, from 30 September to 2 October 2026.
During the visit, Thai Trade Center-Chicago met with Spun Silk World Co., Ltd, a Thai producer and distributor of high-quality spun silk yarn participating under the SMEs Pro-active program of the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce. The company was established in 2010 after acquiring a Japanese textile business with more than 30 years of experience. It is internationally recognized for its environmentally friendly production processes and high-quality standards.

เมื่อวันที่ 28 เมษายน 2569 นางสาวปิยะฉัตร พิมจันทึก ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครชิคาโก (สคต.ชิคาโก) พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่ ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมผ่านระบบ Zoom กับคุณ Pattra Hortong ในตำแหน่ง Country Coordinator ประจำประเทศไทย ของบริษัท Altios เพื่อแนะนำบริษัท และแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับองค์กร รวมทั้งการหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือในอนาคต

On 28 April 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago (TTC Chicago), together with her staff, participated in a Zoom meeting with Ms. Pattra Hortong, Country Coordinator for Thailand at Altios. The meeting aimed to introduce the company, exchange organizational information, and discuss potential avenues for future collaboration.
Altios is a global consulting firm with over 30 years of experience, established in 1991. Headquartered in France, the company operates an extensive international network across multiple regions worldwide. It specializes in supporting international business expansion and cross-border investment, with a strong focus on serving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Regarding its operations in Thailand, Altios established its office in the country last year to provide end-to-end services. These include strategic planning, market analysis, business development, and partner identification in foreign markets. The company also assists Thai businesses in establishing overseas subsidiaries, while facilitating foreign companies’ investments in Thailand. In doing so, it collaborates closely with private sector entities, financial institutions, and government agencies from various countries.
During the meeting, TTC Chicago and Altios exchanged views on opportunities for collaboration to support Thai exporters in expanding their presence in the United States in an effective and sustainable manner.

Clark Street ในนครชิคาโก
Illinois EDC เป็นองค์กรไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรที่มีบทบาทสำคัญในการส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจ การลงทุน และการพัฒนาธุรกิจในรัฐอิลลินอยส์ โดยดำเนินงานอย่างใกล้ชิดกับ Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity รวมทั้งประสานความร่วมมือกับภาคเอกชน มหาวิทยาลัย องค์กรไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร และหน่วยงานภาครัฐจากนานาประเทศ

Illinois EDC is a non-profit organization that plays a key role in promoting economic growth, investment, and business development in the state of Illinois. It works closely with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and collaborates with private companies, universities, non-profit organizations, and government agencies from various countries.
During the meeting, TTC Chicago discussed potential areas of collaboration with Illinois EDC under a Government-to-Government (G2G) framework, covering both trade and investment. This includes support for organizing trade delegations and facilitating business matchmaking appointments for Thai companies interested in expanding their investments or establishing businesses in Illinois, leveraging the services and networks of Illinois EDC.

เมื่อวันที่ 23 เมษายน 2569 นางสาวปิยะฉัตร พิมจันทึก ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ นครชิคาโก (สคต.ชิคาโก) พร้อมด้วยเจ้าหน้าที่ ได้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมกับ Chicago International Trade Commissioners Association (CITCA) ในการเยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานของ Ports of Indiana ณ ท่าเรือ Burns Harbor ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่เมือง Portage รัฐ Indiana โดยมี Ms. Heather Enis ประธานและ CEO ของ Northwest Indiana Forum ซึ่งเป็นหน่วยงานที่ดูแลรับผิดชอบ Ports of Indiana และ Mr. Ryan McCoy ผู้อำนวยการท่าเรือ พร้อมทีมงานให้การต้อนรับคณะผู้แทนจากประเทศสมาชิก CITCA รวมเกือบ 20 ราย

On April 23, 2026, Ms. Piyachat Pimjuntug, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Chicago, together with her staff, participated in an activity organized by the Chicago International Trade Commissioners Association (CITCA) to visit the operations of Ports of Indiana at Burns Harbor, located in Portage, Indiana. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Ms. Heather Enis, President and CEO of the Northwest Indiana Forum—the organization responsible for overseeing Ports of Indiana—and Mr. Ryan McCoy, Port Director, along with their team. The visit brought together representatives from nearly 20 member organizations of CITCA.
During the visit, the delegation gained in-depth insights into regional development initiatives, including maritime logistics systems, warehousing, heavy industrial zones, container terminal development projects, Foreign Trade Zones, and the port’s internal rail system. The port’s capabilities in handling both bulk cargo (such as coal and limestone) and breakbulk cargo (such as steel) were also highlighted. In addition, presentations covered the Quantum Computing Initiative & Data Centers, customs operations at Gary Airport, and regional workforce development strategies.
Ports of Indiana is the state’s port authority, operating three main ports: Burns Harbor on Lake Michigan, and Jeffersonville and Mount Vernon along the Ohio River. These ports serve as key logistics hubs supporting major industries, particularly steel (accounting for over 70%), as well as agriculture and manufacturing.
Burns Harbor is home to more than 30 companies and handles over 3 million tons of cargo annually. It stands out as a multimodal hub, offering connectivity via waterways through the Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway to the Atlantic Ocean, as well as extensive road and rail networks. This connectivity positions the port as a vital distribution hub in the Midwest, generating over USD 4.63 billion in economic value and supporting more than 28,400 jobs.
Regarding the transportation of export goods from Thailand to Ports of Indiana, particularly Burns Harbor, cargo can be shipped via maritime routes departing from Thailand’s main ports, heading toward either the Pacific Ocean or the Indian Ocean depending on the shipping line. It then enters the Great Lakes system through the St. Lawrence Seaway (a route that passes through both Canada and the United States), which serves as the primary maritime corridor connecting the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes region of the United States. This enables cargo to be transported directly to Burns Harbor.
