Do you like to chat about movies? Participants view each film on their own and then join a group discussion and critique via Zoom. Movies are selected through discussion and a decision of Chat participants. Join the Movie Chat and bring your recommendations!

Copies of these movies are usually available on DVD at the Edgewater Branch library for checkout with your library card or you can watch them online through a streaming service of your choice.

Our monthly Memory Café offers a comfortable and supportive environment for individuals with memory loss and their caregivers. Activities at this event will vary at each meeting but will include games, arts and crafts, music, and more. Friends, family members, and community allies also are welcome!

The first hour is reserved for the formal program; the second hour is set aside for socialization. Light refreshments will be served but feel free to bring a bagged lunch.

Registration is recommended but not required. You may register on the library’s website, by phone, or in person at any Chicago Public Library location. Ask your librarian or visit chipublib.org for information.

Come jam with us!

Join in for an hour of community music-making. Bring your guitar, ukulele, tuba, violin or other acoustic instrument and play along. Singers and listeners are welcome, too!

Music will be provided in print form or projected on screen. We’ll play songs of varying styles, including folk, country, pop, standards, jazz, classical, Broadway, and seasonal.

Saturdays at 1-2 PM: May 30.
Thursdays at 4-5PM, May 14.

Edgewater Village Chicago will participate in the 48th Ward’s Third Annual Older Adults Resource Fair. This annual event brings together trusted community organizations to connect older adults with essential services and resources. We aim to create a welcoming, one-stop space where residents can learn about programs related to healthcare, legal assistance, financial planning, wellness, social services, and much more.

This monthly program helps older adults and new users understand their personal computer, phone, or tablet. Presenter Michael Kennedy will discuss the successes and pitfalls of using technology and how to resolve challenges when they arise.

This program is presented in partnership with the Edgewater Library and will be held in the Betty A. Barclay Community Room of the Edgewater Branch Library. Registration is recommended but not required.
