A small yet, mentionable neighborhood on the South side of Chicago that been known as a “community with strong roots” – West Chesterfield – it’s a place worth mentioning and a place to remember. In the City of Chicago, West Chesterfield is considered to be a Historically African American area; bounded by the B & O Railroad tracks on the North, 95th Street on the South, State Street along the Dan R

yan Expressway (I-90/94) on the West, and, the west side of Martin Luther King Dr. (400 E) on the East. The West Chesterfield community is in Cook County on the South Side of Chicago and is located within the ninth ward. Of the 77 communities of Chicago, this neighborhood lies partially within both the Chatham (Area 44) and Roseland (Area 49) neighborhoods. Our Mission is to promote community awareness and to encourage involvement, as it relates to problems facing the community – and the development of potential solutions. We believe West Chesterfield remains a “Great Place to Live and to Raise a Family.”
