22, of Sinton, Texas; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.; died June 28 in Helmand province, Afghanistan, while conducting combat operations.

We mourn the loss of Heather Ann Sears's son Sergeant Cory Vickery/United States Marine. Sgt Vickery was an Afghanistan Veteran and a true Warrior. His valor and dedication to this great nation is commendable and noteworthy and his sacrifices will be embedded in all we do as a free people and nation. Sgt Vickery is standing post at the "Pearly Gates" in heaven to the best of his abilities. Rest In Peace Warrior. You will be missed but not forgotten. Heather, you raised not only a magnificent human being but also a United States Marine, and for that you are commended.

it’s about honoring the ones who still fight battles we’ll never see.
The ones who carry memories that don’t fade,
and pain that doesn’t always have a name.

Marine Lance Cpl. Sean P. Neal
Died October 23, 2014 Serving During Operation Inherent Resolve
19, of Riverside, California, died Oct. 23 in Baghdad, Iraq, of noncombat-related causes while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Crisis Response, which has a headquarters element based at Camp Pendleton, California.
