The Healing Illinois initiative is returning for the 2026-2027 funding cycle, in partnership with Illinois Department of Human Services.
A total of $4.3 million will be allocated to Illinois nonprofits aimed at promoting racial healing and fostering community connections across the state.
Organizations can apply for funding to support projects that unite individuals from diverse backgrounds, build trust, enhance understanding, and strengthen community bonds until September 28.
The initiative is grounded in the belief that every resident can contribute to healing by recognizing the inherent value of all people, respecting varied experiences, and honoring the histories of Illinois' diverse communities.
Eligible applicants include Illinois 501(c)(3) organizations.
Informational sessions will be held on September 8 and September 15.
